Nuheen Khan

Hello! My name is Nuheen, and I am an IB Economics SL/HL Online Tutor based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada.I graduated from Harvard University with an MPA/ID graduate degree, building on my B.A in Economics (First Class, Valedictorian) and M.A in Economics from the University of British Columbia.I have been teaching economics for over a decade at the university and college level, including a one year stint as a Teaching Fellow for Harvard's introductory economics course, Ec-10.Since my graduation from Harvard University, I have spent the past 4 years establishing myself as one of the premium Economics Tutors in the world for IB Economics. While I previously worked with numerous premium tutoring centers in Canada and USA, I have recently established my own tutoring business, Tpock, and am teaching IB Economics students from all over the world through Zoom.

IB Economics Tutoring: How It Works

  • Making Students Feel Comfortable to Continuously Ask Questions: The fundamental mantra for economists is to question everything. Nuheen not only encourages his students to freely inquire about the topics being taught but also empowers them to challenge any concept he presents. His lessons are conversational in nature, rather than following an ineffective lecture format.

  • Helping Students Score 7s in IB Commentaries, and Getting High Predicted Grades: IB commentaries are worth 20% or 30% of the final IB grade for Economics, for the HL and SL program respectively. The performance of students in commentaries is in some ways even more important, particularly when you consider that many teachers disproportionately use the commentary grades to provide predicted grades for university applications. Nuheen has guided many students to 7s in IB Economics essays, helping them head into the final exams with nearly full marks in 20-30% portion of the final IB grade, making it easier to score a 7 overall.

  • Providing Relevant Practice Questions (Paper 1, 2 and 3) as Students Learn a Particular Topic: Aside from picking out sample, topic-relevant questions for practice, Nuheen helps his students understand how to write answers to past paper questions using the proper IB rubric, guiding them towards better school grades and predicted IB grades.

Such a FABULOUS tutor! If you take IB Economics, Nuheen is the tutor you NEED.I initially suffered doing IB Econ because my teacher in school literally does not teach anything, but with his help, I gained a strong understanding of the concepts and boosted my confidence. He is very familiar with the IB systems, and he has strategies to help you get a 7 (in IB)! He is very patient and very organized. And, no doubt, he has a solid economics background, so just ask him all your questions and he will definitely be able to help you out. With his guidance, I was able to score 7s in all my Econ HL commentaries!Aside from being your econ tutor, he can also help with university applications. He helped me with many of my uni applications and I got into ALL the top business schools in Canada! Highly recommended that you try out his lessons, for real, you won’t regret it.
